WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. A random substat is also increased with every upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like Eth Titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The  item upgrader  enables players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC.  item upgrading  can be applied to any kind of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item, however, they are always less expensive than purchasing new gear. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased from item upgraders NPCs for various currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased,  upgrade item  can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which will display a preview of the item at the next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and current item level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currencies.

A lot of locations offer upgraders for items in addition to the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount as well as a chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases as more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or complete quests.

Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no upgrader for items available at the start of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades must be acquired through a variety of means that are both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3, the upgrade system was tweaked a bit, with several new features added. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a certain level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading additional items to the same level will cost less, even in the event that they are part of another set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is reduced as well, but is only available after certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

Players have several options when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests are only able to be spent on gear of a specific rank, and that each rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The most basic and straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complex requires as many as 20 crests based on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing tasks at the appropriate level. This could be done by doing outdoor activities, or by doing dungeons or raids in all difficulty levels to obtain lower-level gear or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons with a heroic difficulty for endgame gear. These crests can then be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, however it brings some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it will no longer require Flightstones. This change lets players upgrade their gear to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests wisely, as they have only one purpose. For instance, it's best to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests with the best gear you have available and save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan on making. This is particularly true for items like trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to benefit from the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
